Modern Hall using Clipsham Ashlars
Limestone Modern Hall using Clipsham ashlars and rubble walling.
In collaboration with Mark Porter Design, we helped to shape and carved most of the solid stone Hall in the Rutland village of Hambleton.
The Clipsham stone is a beautiful match to the surroundings. The number of stone bow windows and the stone mullion windows is very impressive. These have limestone cills matching the cropped local limestone, not Ketton stone but Clipsham from the local Clipsham Quarry.
The portico, as well chimney breasts and internal courtyard are all very nicely detailed. The stone quoins are a nice touch.
There is an adjacent building with a tall, elegant stone bow window with a stunning view over Rutland Water.
