Clipsham & Ancaster Stone New Build

Hurley. Oxfordshire.

In cooperation with Goldhome Stone.

Clipsham stone and Ancaster stone.

A very large house in beautiful grounds, the scheme was a collaboration with Golholme Quarry.

The Ancaster limestone was used mostly for the door frames and all stone windows jambs and cills.

The simplicity of the Edwardian style architecture is always successful with its mixture of fine-detailed stonemasonry work and the fine courses of red bricks. Note the welcoming Ancaster stone portico.

The sharp stone windows surrounds are far superior to standardised reconstituted stone or poor quality concrete!

We built a beautiful cantilevered Portland stone staircase, over 2 floors. Next time we will be using a bit of our Clipsham stone for a change.
