Case Study 4

An elliptical self-supported stone staircase.

An elegant and harmonious ribbon of stone flowing through 2 floors.

The two 13mm cables maintain this, floating the two 24 steps flights. In French limestone, this project is in a new country house in southwest London.

At 1000mm this is not our widest staircase, but its width makes it even more gracious and tense.

The engineering was done by Webb and Yates and all construction drawings by us.
